2008 EDUCATION TECHNOLGY FAIR
October 8, 2008

The 2008 QU Tech Fair was a great event.  Quincy University, the Regional Office of Education and ETC ComputerLand invited local educators and the public to share in a day looking at today’s challenges and demands facing our schools.  The 2008 Tech Fair was held on Wednesday, October 8, in the QU Hall of Fame Room of the Health and Fitness Center.

In today’s society the challenges and demands on our schools are increasing.  The security of our students, faculty, staff as well as facilities and the privacy of the information schools generate are relatively new issues that often come with little or no funding to address them.  The 2008 Tech Fair brought together many people looking for the same solutions to best serve our educational communities.  Local school educators were on hand and answered questions along with representatives from QU, HP, Cisco, DyKnow, Computrace, and ETC ComputerLand.  These knowledge-based service representatives were available to discuss their offerings for these approaching issues and reviewed technologies that accomplished the goals of new initiatives.  Some of the topics included were: computer and printing needs, network management, e-rate, application development, network security, card access security, phone security, and video surveillance.  We look forward to this being an annual event.
